Introducing Corn Crake Records & Introducing The New Leaves

Welcome to Corn Crake Records a new label imprint under the wing of LNFG which aims to promote acoustic-based singer-songwriters and groups in the folk tradition. The label will be facilitated and organised by Bluebell and McCluskey Brother, Ken with guidance and input from the team at the Mothership, Last Night From Glasgow.

 The debut release on the new label will be The New Leaves single "Donaghaguy Reservoir" which will be available digitally from Friday the 29^th of March as a way of introduction to members and to coincide with the bands gig supporting Seamus Foggarty at The Glad Café, Glasgow on the 3^rd of April. The band will release their debut album " A Sketch From Home"  digitally and on CD on the 7^th of June 2024.

The New Leaves are:

•  Cian O’ Hare- Vocals, Guitar.
•  Patrice Mc Kevitt – Vocals, Bass.
•  Paddy Goodfellow – Drums & Percussion.

BIO

The New Leaves, like so many contemporary music projects, emerged from the post pandemic wilderness. The New Leaves consists of four childhood friends from County Down, Northern Ireland – who blend lush, three-part harmonies, nature inspired lyrics and modern folk aesthetics. The four members came together to breathe life into an expanding songbook written by Mc Kay, who attempts to capture the natural beauty, history, and mythology of homelife beneath the Mourne Mountains and the beautiful townlands that surround Carlingford Lough.

Donaghaguy Reservoir

Donaghaguy Reservoir sits on the outskirts of Warrenpoint, the band’s hometown. It is a place of quiet reflection for both humans and animals alike. Often referred to locally as ‘the duck pond’, it is an area of unpretentious beauty. The song, penned by McKay, attempts to capture a moment of peace at the reservoir – the sights and sounds that make Donaghaguy Reservoir such a special place for seekers of sanctuary and quiet reflection in nature.
