HiFi Sean, also known as Sean Dickson, began his musical career in 1985, forming and fronting The Soup Dragons. The band saw success across a decade and released five albums before disbanding in 1995. Dickson then formed The High Fidelity, before becoming DJ HiFi Sean. He went on to work with the likes of Yoko Ono, Norman Blake, Crystal Waters and more.
David McAlmont began his career in London based band Thieves with producer and instrumentalist Saul Freeman. After splitting up, McAlmont continued his solo career, which included opening for Morrisey, before he was approached by ex-Suede guitarist Bernard Butler. The two began a collaboration, making album The Sound of McAlmont and Butler.
In recent years HiFi Sean and David McAlmont began to collaborate and their debut single 'The Skin I'm In' arrived in 2020. Together they have created upcoming album 'Happy Ending', an album Sean describes as 'a psychedelic electronic soul soundtrack written and recorded at the top of an East London tower block and mixed in a beach house on the south coast. Half the album is accompanied by an eighty-piece Bollywood orchestra recorded at a film studio in Bangalore India."
