Formed in London in 1981 The Blow Monkeys established themselves as key players in the 80s new wave pop scene. Led by Dr Robert they became pioneers of charismatic "sophisti-pop" but have adopted various styles throughout their career. Their debut album Limping For A Generation was released in 1984, but the band had their first hit two years later with single Digging Your Scene. They went onto have four albums and eleven singles in the UK charts before splitting in 1990.
In 2008 after an 18 year silence, Dr. Robert and gang returned with a glorious new album Devils Tavern. 5 further albums followed concluding with Journey To You in 2021. A retrospective album Time Storm - Greatest Hits Volume 2 is released 2023, celebrating the best songs from this time period. The band will release an album of brand new material in 2024 with Last Night From Glasgow.
