Montjuïc is the electro-acoustic duo from James Hackett (The Orchids) and Ian Carmichael (One Dove). James and Ian have collaborated musically for decades but came together as Montjuïc during the Covid pandemic. The two-piece work mostly remotely with Ian based in Barcelona and James in Glasgow. Their debut album Things Must Change is set for release in September 2025, a gorgeous, atmospheric collection of downtempo tracks.
Ian Carmichael is a sound engineer and musician, best known as songwriter and keyboard player of acclaimed Scottish electronic trio One Dove. James Hackett is best known as frontman and guitarist of beloved Glasgow indie-pop group The Orchids. Ian has produced 6 albums for The Orchids and has also played keys for the band.
