The Anchoress is the solo project of Welsh singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Catherine Anne Davies. Known for blending art rock, synth-pop, and alternative music, her work combines cinematic production with emotionally rich songwriting. Acclaimed for albums such as Confessions of a Romance Novelist and The Art of Losing, The Anchoress has earned praise for her powerful vocals, intelligent lyricism, and immersive soundscapes, while also collaborating with artists including Manic Street Preachers and Simple Minds.
