LNFG Reveals A Lockdown Trip In The Forest

We are delighted to announce our latest signing - Bedfordshire quartet In The Forest. They describe themselves as "acoustic, indie-folk band featuring family dynamics and four-part harmonies with vocals that blend naturally and instinctively" We hear elements of The Staves, Tuung and Fairport Convention. The band release their debut EP in 3 weeks, too late for LNFG to jump aboard but we will be putting our full weight behind the project and grabbing a track from the EP for the full single treatment in July. "I'm A Terrible Pianist" - David MacGregor Talks Isolation and Still(ness)

Interview by Isabella Eastwood I low-key imposed a video call on David MacGregor (Broken Chanter), somewhat springing it on him with the follow-up “it’s what I’ve been doing for all the interviews so far”. I like to think I softened the blow by emphasising tea and biscuits were, if not mandatory, at the very least highly recommended. I got a tour of his ceilings (some white, some grey) and we discussed being still, the NHS and synthesisers. “I chose ‘Still’ by Annie Booth because the whole EP that that’s on is beautiful, and the arrangement of that song and the...

"People are being coerced into being creative" - Nicol & Elliott talk the new norm.

Interview by Isabella Eastwood - April 2020 In the second set of our Isolation Interviews series, Andrew Nicol, Rachel Elliott and I gathered around our phones and discussed the stress of shifting work patterns, identity in isolation, and how remote working has afforded them a certain freedom to experiment in a different way.   Both Andrew and Rachel are witnessing changes in their daily working lives and the jobs they hold outside of music. Andrew’s visits as a public health nurse for children from 0 to 5 and their families are restricted, and Rachel, working for Scottish Water, is temporarily...
