Welcome Xan Tyler

We said we had some announcements coming......
We are thrilled to welcome the sublimely talented Xan Tyler into the fold and look forward to releasing her new album in 2024.
A first single is expected in May 2023.

Holding Up Half The Sky is a vital album that explores themes of female empowerment. Though this is Xan Tyler’s debut album it is not her first rodeo. She collaborated in 2021 with dub legend Mad Professor on Clarion Call (Ariwa) and in 2021 with Kramer under Let It Come Down on their dreampop album 'Songs We Sang In Our Dreams' (Shimmy Disc / Joyful Noise). Xan also flirted with the charts back when she was part of Technique on Creation Records. She has been described as 'genre agnostic'.

This album, produced by Boo Hewerdine, was recorded by Jamie Savage at Chem 19 and features the talents of Louis Abbot (Admiral Fallow), Adam Scott (Album Club), John Rooney (Starry Skies), Emma Pollock (The Delgados), uber fiddler John McCusker, cellist Pete Harvey and Swedish multi-instrumental genius Gustaf Ljunggren.

How to describe this wonderful record? Baroque indie-pop with a nod to Wicker Man folk? The aural assault of I’m Your Muse, the hi-life exuberance of Ziggy, the fragile tenderness of Forever Things… All held together by Xan Tyler’s bruised beauty of a voice.
