Steve Lane is an Australian musician from Central Victoria. His fourth album The Great Imposter was released by Last Night From Glasgow in 2022.
Steve began his musical career as Steve Lane and the Autocrats in 2009. They released their first album The Romance of Communication in 2011. Moving on from the Autocrats, Steve Lane released The Revenge Of The Lawn in 2017.
Throughout his career he has been commended for his songwriting. He has been a three times nominee for the International Songwriting Award and his 2011 album The Romance of Communication was nominated for the prestigious Australian Music Prize. Lane’s band The Autocrats and numerous other collaborations have seen him work with members of The Avalanches, Paul Kelly & The Dots, Augie March and more.
