Influenced by literature as much as the best in the Scottish music scene, Glasgow's The Poems feature former members of classic Scottish bands. Robert Hodgens (the Bluebells), Adrian Barry (the High Fidelity), Bobby Paterson (Love and Money), Ross McFarlane (The Proclaimers, Texas, The High Fidelity) and Andy May (Marianne Faithful) were joined by vocalists Kerry Polwart. The record includes contributions from Isobel Campbell (Belle & Sebastian), Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub) and Justin Currie (Del Amitri). They signed with Minty Fresh in the U.S. and released Young America in September 2006.
In 2022, Past Night From Glasgow re-released the album, available on vinyl for the first time.
