LNFG Open The Gates Of Light

It's been a little quiet of late in the old blog department, it's not a lack of activity, it's a lack of time to tell you all about what's happening. We plan to remedy that over the coming weeks as we have many many exciting things to share.

First off, we are beyond thrilled to confirm that over the next 12-14 months, LNFG will be releasing new music from Gates of LIght. The collaborative project from acclaimed singer songwriter Louise Quinn.

A collection of EPs will be released in 2023 with a vinyl album arriving in early 2024.

We are so excited to welcome Louise into the family!

Born out of international lockdown project Gates Of Light — Glaswegian singer-songwriter Louise Quinn is joined once again by collaborators London-based DJ/producer Scott Fraser (Birdscarer, Rush Hour, Wave), Parisian musician/DJ/producer Kid Loco (Atlantic, Azuli, Bella Union) , and NY film director/photographer Tim Saccenti (who has previously worked with Run The Jewels and Pharell, among others) this time joined by Glasgow based musician Finlay MacDonald (Teenage Fanclub, BMX Bandits, Wor_kspace) and Yoad Nevo (SIA, AIR, Goldfrapp). Expanding on the first album's future folk in a prog-pop, electro psych and immersive house direction and lyrically where the first album explored the disconnect of  lockdown; GOL II explores the pleasure and the pain of the reconnect.

"A truly beatific fusion of ambient electronics, folk-leaning songwriting, and psych overtones..."
Clash

"Gates Of Light don’t dwell in the darkness of the last year, but look to find brightness, hope and liveliness in any corner, and the resulting songs land somewhere between Nico, Serge Gainsbourg and a lo-fi Saint Etienne."
Beats Per Minute

"…an absolute gem that brings to mind both Young Marble Giants and Saturday Looks Good to Me’"
- The Vinyl District

"It's a lovely album’"
- Mark Radcliffe (BBC6 Music)

"Fans of 60’s art-rock noir and the timeless urban folk of Nico and Leonard Cohen will revel in Quinn’s sophisticated grace, charm, and pop cabaret vocals."
